Introduction
The one question that commonly people ask from interior designers and architects is what would be the price of my modular kitchen if I get one. It is a general notion that modular kitchen is expensive but it is not true. The cost of the modular kitchen depends upon various factors and these factors are as follows:
Price determining Factors of modular kitchen
1. Size of the kitchen: The cost of the modular kitchen, first and foremost depends upon the size of the kitchen. If the size of the kitchen is bigger i.e. if it is L-shaped or U-shaped, or parallel more modules will be used hence the cost will go up, whereas if there is less space and only straight kitchen can be built then less modules will be used and cost will be less.
2. Material used for cabinets: The cost of the modular kitchen also depends upon the material that one uses for the cabinets. The material determines the strength and the water resistant quality. Major material used for cabinets is pre laminated particle board, Medium density fiber board, wood plastic composit, and plywood. So generally plywood is recommended for kitchen’s base cabinets and MDF can be used for top cabinets and depending upon your choice the price varies.
3. Surface finishes: The surface finishes determine the look of the kitchen and there are many options for the surface finishes. The range starts from laminates, acrylic, lacquered glass, stone, solid wood, veneer, and aluminum frame shutter.

Conclusion:
All the above factors i.e. size of the kitchen, material you use for the cabinets, surface finishes, hardware, accessories and appliances, and countertops affect the price of the modular kitchen.
